Maya Final: Previsualization of Treasure of the Castle
For my Maya final we had to do a simple pre-viz of a scene. I chose to do the first shot of my Treasure of the Castle storyboards. I wasn't able to figure out how to get the shadows to work properly. I really wish I could have got the window frame to cast a shadow and to be able to trace the shadow of the man from the suit of armor to his feet. The professor looked at it and apparently I didn't have my shadow settings right for what I needed. Well, I saved a version with the settings he manipulated and can play with it next semester to see if I can get it to work.
I modeled a very simple castle for the assignment and used the character in our school's "library." I downloaded the knight helmet and the weapons.
I focused mainly on animating the camera and only did simple parented-revolve animations and translations for the characters.
Here's an image of my castle. It reminds me of a lego playset.
And here's the video of my previz. I think I need to slow it down too. It played back in Maya a bit slower.

Veronica Street Storyboards
This is what I turned in for my final in my story art class. I am going to improve it so that a least a section could be used in a storyboard portfolio. I talked to Tom Sito and he pointed out many things to fix, work on, and think about, like perspective and clear acting and the idea that "good guys go left to right and bad guys move right to left!"
I should point out this is based on a true story. My friend had a friend who tried to give a girl he liked a street sign that had her name. They tied the a rope on their car and on the sign, and, actually, they did uproot the pole.

Quicksilver: Female Character Portraits
These are drawings I did for the USC game project Quicksilver. Last year I worked as an animator on the project, but this year I am working on it as an illustrator. Unfortunately, this semester has been much more stressful and I haven't had as much time to dedicate to the project. I wanted to do character portraits for the health bars, and decided to draw the whole bodies. The game has an anime design and I was working based on previous character designs by other artists.
