Paper Spirits Story Boards

Realized I never put these up. These were the final storyboards I did for a collaboration between my school and a school in Tokyo. We did pre-production and they animated it.

Paper Spirits Title

The animation for the USC and Tokyo University of Technology collaboration which I storyboarded and designed characters for is finished! It's very cool to see your boards moving.
My sister helped me do a really quick title for the film between essays. I gave her my idea and a bad scribble, she planned and drew it nicely, and I inked it and colored it and then repositioned it for better composition.

Kamen Ramen

For Japanese class we had to do a project to represent our knowledge of the language. I did a spoof on Japanese dating video games and Sailor Moon. I worked with Amber on it. She colored all the backgrounds (except I did a few "effects" backgrounds) and did the drawings of the girl (except in the walking scene). I drew the men and cats, colored the characters, wrote it, planned, and compiled it.

I didn't get much sleep last week and still I wish I had just a little longer to do at least simple things like pan and zooms.

The basic idea is that the cat and boy see the girl, and comment that she is the "Udon Princess" similar to the "Moon Princess" in Sailor Moon. He asks her to eat with him, asks a lot of about her family, orders food, and they talk about how they both like to cook. Then they receive the wrong order, and the chief has become a monster and attacks with hamburgers. He transforms and saves the day (saving the world from fatty food) and then the cat gives the girl a transformation necklace. She says "Udon Makeup" and it ends.
